Hi queen! You’ll also need to reach out to your mom’s health insurance and get a letter stating that they are dropping your coverage since you’re aging out of eligibility. Most insurance companies will ask for proof of eligibility to enroll mid-year, that letter is your proof to submit to your hr office! I’m 29 and work in hr so I’m familiar with the process!

Also please pay attention to deadlines… u don’t want to accidentally miss it and then be without insurance until open enrollment (a random time when u can enroll in insurance without needing some sort of life event)

Hi, I have been working with insurance since I was 18 so don’t be super overwhelmed! Look at the packages and look at the services you use the most so if you go to a therapist, if you get medication, if you see a chiropractor, if you see a PT, get massages, dental ,vision; just figure out what you use and then look at the policy that works best for you. There are high deductible plans meaning you would pay a co-pay and potentially have a HSA or FSA account which would be money that your employer pulls from your check and some employers do match that and it’s money that you can use at those Appointments and sometimes you just need to get an itemized receipt to submit to your insurance depending on how strict they are, I’ve seen people use their HSA for toothpaste. It really just depends on how picky your insurance is. You can call your insurance company and ask questions. Just make sure you ask questions. Don’t pick a random plan. Pick what works for you I’m so sorry it’s so confusing. This country sucks.❤️(UHC sucks and BCBS has the highest meeting deductible charges BUT is widely accepted)

Why didn’t you switch to your own coverage when you started your job and/or moved out?
