@newyorkaquarium: School is back in session for longhorn cowfish Oxford! He is making great progress with his shape-matching behavior. These sessions stimulate him mentally and physically, encourage his natural foraging behaviors, and allow for less stress during veterinary procedures. For this training session, Keeper Heily uses a large container that keepers refer to as “Oxford University”, various shapes, food treats, and a ring target. Oxford voluntarily swims into the container and to the shape that is presented to him. He is then directed to match the same shape on the other side and is rewarded with a tasty treat. His shape recognition skills are 10/10! Great job, Oxford! #newyorkaquarium #longhorncowfish 🎥: Keeper Heily
