But they’re stopping the trial as early as tomorrow because they can see that it’s having a major negative effect on the cows and because we’ve asked them to stop. The trial is being conducted in collaboration with Seges and the manufacturer of Bovaer, DSM-Firmenich. Fourteen days before the start, blood samples, urine samples, milk samples, etc., were taken. Feed samples were taken every day, and we kept track of how much the cows ate. The veterinarians examined all cows showing signs of illness. After the trial began, things went well for the first four days, but then things started to go wrong. On the sixth day—that is, today—the veterinarian has already examined six sick cows. The one in this video cannot stand up; the other five have diarrhea and are generally unwell. Last year, when we used Bovaer, all our time was spent caring for sick cows.
