@seconddateupdte1: Why Do Airplane Engines Have So Many Blades? Why do jet engines need so many blades spinning inside them? It might seem like adding more blades would simply make the engine heavier and more complicated. But a turbofan engine has to control and move enormous amounts of air, and it does that through carefully designed stages. At the front, the large fan moves a huge volume of air. Behind it, multiple rows of compressor blades progressively work on the airflow before it reaches the combustion section. But here's the surprising part. As the air moves deeper into the engine, different blade rows are designed to change its pressure and velocity in controlled steps. The compressor progressively raises the pressure before the air enters the combustion chamber. Then the high-energy flow drives turbine stages farther back in the engine. So the engine isn't packed with blades simply because more blades means more power. Each row has a carefully calculated aerodynamic job. Together, these stages allow a modern jet engine to move, compress and process enormous amounts of air efficiently. #Aviation #JetEngine #AircraftEngineering #Turbofan #HowPlanesWork Search Queries: why jet engines have so many blades how jet engine compressor works turbofan compressor stages jet engine turbine blades explained how aircraft engines compress air
