Neuro-inflammation and raised intracranial pressure don’t just cause headaches. They directly affect the nerves that control your face, eyes, and muscles 🧠 When inflammation builds in the brain and pressure increases inside the skull, it reduces space and blood flow around delicate cranial nerves. These nerves are responsible for facial movement, eyelid control, pupil size, eye focus, and sensation. ✨ Here’s why the symptoms look the way they do: 🧠 Facial droop Raised pressure and inflammation can irritate or compress the facial nerve pathways. When one side of the brain has poorer drainage or higher pressure (for me, my unstented side), that nerve signaling weakens → causing drooping, heaviness, or loss of control on one side of the face. 👁 Uneven pupils & eye changes Intracranial pressure affects the nerves that control pupil dilation and eye movement. This can cause pupils to change size, become uneven, react slowly to light, or feel strained and painful. Vision can blur, double, or feel “off” even when eye tests look normal. 💥 Headaches that feel deep, crushing, or positional This isn’t a “normal headache.” Pressure stretches pain-sensitive structures inside the skull and reduces normal cerebrospinal fluid flow. That’s why the pain can worsen when lying down, bending over, coughing, or straining. ⚡ Facial numbness, tingling, or pulling sensations Inflammation disrupts sensory nerve signaling, creating strange nerve sensations that don’t follow typical patterns — burning, tightness, crawling, or electrical feelings across the face and jaw. 🧠 Why it fluctuates Symptoms can change hour to hour because intracranial pressure and neuro-inflammation fluctuate with: • posture • hydration • hormone shifts • fatigue • infections • overexertion This is why one side can worsen suddenly and why resting doesn’t always immediately fix it. 🤍 For me My right-sided droop happens because that’s my unstented side, where pressure regulation is poorer. When inflammation rises, the nerve load increases there first — and my face shows it before anything else does. This isn’t anxiety. This isn’t stress. This isn’t “just a migraine.” This is neurology + pressure + inflammation colliding inside a very small space. If your face tells the story before your words do — you’re not imagining it. Your nervous system is speaking. 🧠✨ Save this if your symptoms never look “textbook” but your body knows something isn’t right. #iih #neurologicaldisorder #mecfs #inflammation #invisibleillness
