@julanne101: You can’t look forward and backwards at the same time. Full stop I have trouble with this. Lord please all of these things I went through, let me forgive them and let me forgive myself. Recently it’s been what could I have done better in that situation. But the past is done, the Lord has forgiven you, if God forgets it why can’t you? Yes obviously there are learning experiences from life, but I can’t keep looking backwards to try and move forward. Lord I’m reaching for you, I’m reaching for what you have next. That’s faith. I don’t know what’s ahead but I have to trust that you are going to provide and walk with me. Paul is writing within this chapter about reaching forward to God’s goal. (CSB) NLT calls us to forget the past. CSB also has a verse correlation in Luke 9:62. “No one who puts his hand on the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God.” Sounds harsh but I also see it as making logical sense. If you are pushing something like a plow, how on earth can you see where you are going if you are looking backwards. Today, Lord help me to keep looking towards you. Yes my past hurts I keep looking backwards. Help me to look towards you and guide me to reach for what’s ahead. Build my faith to continue to reach for you.
