@hitchlife: This is what it's REALLY like living on an offshore oil rig in the middle of the ocean. 🌊👀 I've been doing FIFO offshore for a year now, so let me show you what life actually looks like when this place becomes your home for weeks at a time. First up — yes, some offshore rigs actually have saunas. And this is the games room. You've got darts, pool, guitars, and different things to do when your shift is finished. Then you've got the cinema and recreation rooms. People come in here to watch movies, catch sports, or just sit down and switch off after a 12-hour shift. And on larger installations, there can be multiple recreation areas spread throughout the accommodation block. Now let's talk about the food. This is today's lunch. Meals can be prepared fresh onboard every day, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner served to the crew. And you've usually got different options depending on the menu, including vegetarian choices. Now this is where you sleep. On this particular rig, two people share the room, with your own bathroom, a desk, and a TV. But remember — not every offshore rig looks like this. Cabin arrangements, bathrooms, recreation facilities, internet, gyms, cinemas, and other amenities can vary significantly depending on the installation and operator. And that's what people don't realize. You're literally living in the middle of the ocean, but some offshore installations can feel more like small cities at sea. You work long shifts, you're away from home for weeks at a time, but when that shift finishes, you've got a place to eat, sleep, relax, and recover. And yes, offshore careers can pay very well — especially in skilled and specialized roles. But the pay isn't automatically high for everyone. Your salary depends on your role, qualifications, experience, employer, location, overtime, and contract. Would you actually be comfortable living on a rig like this for two weeks straight? Comment “OFFSHORE” if you would. Follow this page, like the video, and check the website in our bio for the complete step-by-step guide to getting started in FIFO offshore work.
