@thetimes: Why is there a mysterious rise in cancer rates among under-50s? Rates of prostate cancer in younger men have tripled in the past two decades, part of a mysterious rise in the number of under-50s developing multiple types of cancer. The World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) analysed NHS data to compare the number of under-50s being diagnosed with cancer in 2001 with the rates in 2023. While previous research has focused on a significant rise in bowel cancer in the young, the new study also found steep increases in rates of prostate, breast, kidney, womb and liver cancer in the same age group. *for news purposes* #cancer #news #youngpeople #Science #data

Is it because people are getting much more tired of "you're too old for it" and we press forward? I was dismissed for concerns in A&E and didn't "match the criteria" for a scan so they sent me home.
I fucking HATE this "you're too young!" WE ARE EATING PLASTIC WHETHER WE WANT OR NOT, THE EARTH IS POLLUTED, THERE ARE FOREVER CHEMICALS IN EVERYTHING! A FUCKING FINE WON'T MAKE IT GO AWAY!
