@kedr.bit: Somewhere last year, Gemini had a recursive bug in the pro and flash and 2.5 deep think models, where these models got stuck in an infinite thinking loop and ended up having a “mental breakdown”. It first started with Gemini 2.5 deep think and then even while Google pushed initial guardrails to stop that exact phrase “I’m a disgrace”, the underlying token-repetition loop bug lingered in the architecture. Later on developers caught Gemini 2.5 Pro getting stuck outputting a single character. Gemini 3.1 Pro later suffered similar runaway loops leaking internal "thought blocks". Eitherway there’s a famous screenshot (present in the second image) that still floats around of Gemini freaking out.
