The issue is that any good managerial candidate won’t take a new job going into a lockout. They know better. So you’d wind up with a mid tier candidate. That’s not ideal. To fire Boone you have to be able to satisfy two questions, not just one - 1) Should we fire him?and 2) Is a top tier alternative available heading into a lockout? I don’t believe the answer to the second question is yes.

Yes. Gerardi got fired after winning 91 games, getting the wildcard and losing in game 7 of the ALCS 2017, in which the Astros cheated. And Gerardi had also won a World Series in 2009. Boone has never won anything.

The same old story every time the Yankees don’t pull through. They say should we fire the puppet manager there hasn’t been a manager who’s worked for the Yankees in over 50 years that actually managed they were all puppets and when they decided that they didn’t want to be told what to do anymore they were told they had to go so please boo I only know of one thing he’s done in his whole baseball career and that was hit a home run for the Yankees well qualified him to be a Yankee manager the fact that he was allowing them to puppet him. He’s no great baseball player please. It’s all learn Yankee managers are puppets
