my neighbor has a yappy dog, and i work nights. there was period in time their dog was howling from 8am to noon. after a week of no sleep, i bought a can of dog treats and walked over asking them to handle the situation. i explained how exhausted i am and i gave them the treats. the dog hasnt howled since, that was 3 years ago. there are ways to go about confrontation, and 90% of them could be fixed with respectful dialog.
