@based.legacy: Martin Luther was declared a heretic by the Catholic Church because he rejected doctrines it holds as binding, including papal and conciliar authority, the sacrificial nature of the Mass, and several of the sacraments, and because he refused correction. He was excommunicated in 1521 and established a separate communion outside that teaching office. The Catholic Church understands itself as the Church founded by Christ upon the apostles, the first and continuous Christian communion. It receives Scripture together with apostolic Tradition and professes the faith handed down through the bishops in succession. On that account, it teaches that one should not follow Luther’s break, but remain with the Church that claims to guard the original deposit of faith. #edit #christianity #catholic

martin Luther wasn't wrong overall. We Catholics couldn't make people pay for their own sins. if so then Lucifer/Satan could've buy his way to heaven.

Olavi :

You cannot buy your way into heaven

As a catholic, luther was absolutely necessary so that people wont just follow the church blindly considering it was very corrupt,he is the reason why the bible can be read in every language nowadays and he stopped heresy and corruption in the catholic church so we can have the church as we have it rn,but what happened because of him created so many heretic churches especially in america, its pretty terrible

Luther was right, but he didnt want do divide the whole church, he wanted to reform it 🥀 or would you say its okay to buy free from your sins. additionally Luther said mary was sinless and mary was the mother of god.

🇭🇷Jay🛢️ :

He was right about the Church being corrupt, but about the other things he wasn't. The Church should have never even made people "be able to pay for heaven"

I’m gonna convert from Pentecostal to catholic

luther literally exposed the old Catholic church's corruption and flaws that helped the Catholic church improve and fix their mistakes such as paying the church to go to heaven and paying the church to be on a high political position, before luther exposed these wrongs of the old Catholic church the church very much did these and after luther exposed the wrong doings guess what?did the church keep doing these?no, it pretty much just made the church change
