@doubleo.yen.da: Bound by Faith, Crowned in Glory: Feast of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Today, October 7, we commemorate the Feast of Saints Sergius and Bacchus—two third-century Roman officers stationed in Syria whose unshakeable loyalty to Christ and to each other transcended fear, mockery, and martyrdom. Stripped of their ranks and subjected to public humiliation, they refused to compromise their divine allegiance, choosing the eternal crown over imperial favor. Historically honored as celestial patrons of soldiers and the Byzantine military, Sergius and Bacchus have in contemporary times also become profound symbols of spiritual companionship, steadfast devotion, and inclusion—cherished as patron saints by many within the LGBTQ+ Christian community. Their lives remind us that love, rooted in God, endures all trials. Prayer of Intercession: Holy Martyrs Sergius and Bacchus, who stood side by side in deep devotion to God and to one another, look with compassion on those who face trials and loneliness. You endured mockery, exile, and death rather than compromise your faith or desert each other. Intercede before the throne of Christ for our needs, that we may be granted the same courage to stand firm in truth, the grace to build faithful and enduring bonds of love, and the strength to persevere until we reach the joy of eternal life. Saints Sergius and Bacchus, pray for us. Amen. #CatholicSaints #FeastDayBlessings #FaithAndCourage #PrayForUs #doubleOyenda
