@mushroomgirl1620: 🍄 BLEWIT MUSHROOMS! 💜 Okay, these beauties are definitely one of those mushrooms that make you stop and take a second look. That gorgeous lavender/purple coloring is what usually gives Blewits away, but their color can fade as they mature. Blewit mushrooms (Lepista nuda) are typically found in cooler weather, often popping up in leaf litter, compost, gardens, and woodland areas. They’re especially fun to find in the fall when a lot of other mushrooms are winding down for the season. 🍂🍄 And yes… they’re considered edible when properly identified and thoroughly cooked. But this is one mushroom I would NOT recommend eating based on a picture alone. Blewits have some look-alikes, and some people can also experience stomach upset from them. One of my favorite things about mushrooms is that there’s always more to learn. The more you look, the more you realize just how much is happening underneath our feet. 💜🌲 Have you ever found a Blewit growing in the wild? Drop a 🍄 if you have! — Mushroom Girl 🍄💜
