My kids don’t even want parties anymore. They wants to go to the mall with friends; they can invite five. The party favor is $20 to spend at the mall and I buy them lunch and Boba. That’s the party.

we used to do them at McDonald's or Burger King in the 90s. I dont have kids, but I'm pretty sure people don't do that anymore hahaha

parties at the house don't cost less... a bounce place here costs about $300 for 20 kids and comes with food and water bottles. I'm just outside of Seattle so not a cheap area either. Buying food and getting the house decorated for that many kids... way more

But how is that teaching children the importance of beeing thoughtful in your gift giving? What kind of adult are you raising . Yes it’s easier on the parents but have the kids have some type of choice when they are gifting things to others. It’s fundamentally important to learn how to gift and think of the person beeing gifted and what they might like . Just a thought from a preschool teacher in a previous life.
