I'm strong because I don't have a choice. I was taught not to ask for help growing up, when I did ask, I was told I could figure it out, or I could do it myself. My mom and I ran from a crazy ex-husband when I was 17 and the only help we had was my best friend... and best friend that I helped wverytime she needed it, and yet, when I needed her most, she told me it was my fault, my problem and she didnt have time. I stopped talking to her that night. For 20 years now I have had to be strong and for 19 of those years I have taught my daughter that she can always come to me for help. No matter what. I say I'm fine and then go cry in my car before I move on with my day. I can be crying and still say I'm fine. I've been told too many times that "No one can make you feel bad" or "No one can hurt YOUR feelings". or "It's not MY fault YOU feel that way". I'm tired of being strong. I'm tired of being independent. I want a person (my person) who I can share all my hardest times with and cry and just be me.
