the ending wouldn’t have sucked so bad if they didn’t show Ted and Robin being incompatible 1000 times throughout the show. If they would’ve ended it after a few seasons the ending would’ve been fine but after 9 seasons they should’ve stuck with barney and robin ending up together and Ted ending up with Tracy. No time jumps and just a nice ending

Brooooooo you guys are completely wrong, I watched it 8 times beginning to end. The kids at the end tell him to go for aunt robin. He found the kids mom and then she ends up dying, after that the kids tell him to go for aunt Robin

Show should have ended on the train platform. There’s no reason for Ted to wind up with Robin. Of course the show is “about Robin” but it’s also about how they tried and failed multiple times and never really seemed like a good fit. A lot of people wanted to believe the mother was beyond what he had with Robin.

well that was the point.. the purpose of that conversation with his kids was to actually ask for their blessing to pursue robin, he was scared to ask so he used the how I met your mother story as an excuse to explain why robin is so important to him while reminding them he still loves their mother, his own kids even call him out and say you barely talked about mom you clearly wanted to ask about robin, ted had been single for years since their mother passed away and didn’t know how else to ask them

He’s having a heart to heart with the kids the whole show. Grieving the loss of their mom he explained the journey he took to get to her. It’s actually exactly what it was supposed to be. Genius to plan the structure of the show the entire time

I understand both povs and opinions regarding the ending. Personally, I never liked Robin and didn’t see her compatible with Ted in general. Even though Tracy wasn’t there for long, I saw a spark with her and Ted more than Ted/Robin, just my take 🤷🏽♂️
