@loosethreads.yt: In this video, we explore how Studio Ghibli moves beyond the "hero vs. villain" trope to look at conflict as a systemic loop. From the environmental collisions in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind to the bureaucratic weight of Spirited Away, we dive into how Miyazaki and Takahata write tension that feels less like a battle and more like a condition of life. #StudioGhibli #SpiritedAway #HayaoMiyazaki
My favorite part of Ghibli: there is never a clear "bad guy". It's usually people misunderstanding and making mistakes, and the consequences of those actions. Then learning from that.

Ghibli stories bridge that gap between fairy tales and adult stories. Children need to learn moral complexity before they become adults. And too few adults have taken the time to examine that missing piece in their own development.

This is such a beautiful analysis. I grew up with these movies, they shaped me. They helped me understand our world better at a young age. I gravitate to movies that have incredibly deep messages like these now. Most movies that come out now feel so surface level and shallow.
