@scullystratt: What if Ryland Grace hadn’t been successful? Well better luck next time! #projecthailmary #evastratt #sandrahüller #edit #fyp

blinkfragment0 :

This is one of the things that gets lost in the conversation a lot in this fandom - the ship and crew were NEVER a sure thing. It was entirely possible, even the most likely outcome, that the crew would get there and there was nothing they could do. It’s what makes the decision to send Grace not really a trolley problem, it was just a numbers game.

✨EllieEdits✨ :

the book is genuinely terrifying when it comes to talking about how Earth will be effected

They could never make me hate you, Stratt. She did everything she could to make sure humanity had a fighting chance.

Of course I understand grace, anyone would run or react how he did. Im aware I would too. But he would not be able to mentally handle the situation around him. Teaching children who starve, the wars that would surround them. Yes he was isolated but he would have died sooner on earth and I stand by it. No actually, I dont think im ridiculous to say he would be selfish about his own survival if he stayed on earth. He would not have the same importance if he stayed on earth, he would be in the majority who struggle considering he was barely living off the teacher salary.

Yall ever think that people esp in religious psychosis thought astrophage was the apocalypse described in the Bible?
