At least he is walking home to his wife, not being wheeled or carried. If a worker wants safety you provide saftey. This “it slows down production “ has been tried for years. Ultimately what it shows is that you as the owner are not pricing your work properly to allow for the extra”time and setup”. Money means nothing when you have to live the rest of your life knowing that a mother, wife, children will not see a husband/father/son again.

My son was put on a roof with no harness the company said it wasn’t necessary. The ladder kicked out my son fell onto the cement. Shattered elbow 2 broken ribs his pelvis broken in 5 places. Bolts plates and screws put him back together. He will suffer with nerve damage for the rest of his life. Use the harness or get a new job.

if height is 6 feet or more a harness is required per OSHA.... and I get it ...wearing a harness slows downs work and can be considered a "rookie" move or not "man enough" to be working on roofs.... but when you see a family member like my brother go through the recovery process after falling off a roof and breaking both his legs and back a harness is a no-brainer it's not a flex if you brag about not wearing a harness
