@chriscerney: Salinas police served search warrants at two Salinas residences Tuesday morning as part of a weapons investigation. According to the Salinas Police Department, members of its Violence Suppression Task Force (VSTF), its SWAT team and the California Department of Corrections and Parole served the warrants. Police say the investigation involves firearms, potential gang-related activity, and individuals suspected of participating in illegal sideshows in the city. During the operation, officers arrested a 17-year-old male at one of the residences for ammunition possession, possession of a stolen vehicle and dismantling of a vehicle, police said. In its statement, the department said: "Reckless behavior that endangers our community will not be ignored." Police have not said whether additional arrests are expected. This is a developing story.
