The history of cornrows and cultural styles has been talked about extensively here in the United States for a long time. A black person is still seen as unprofessional if they show up for a job interview with this style. When teenage Zendaya wore cultural hair to a red carpet there were comments made about how she looked like she smelled like patchouli. But a white man can go and get braids on a whim and say he’s “method acting” and compare himself to a black man? Until it’s fully integrated it is appropriation and it IS that deep. But this is one of the most racist fan bases out there because this show is where white Mormon influencers go after they age out of competition dance. Him being so dismissive of all of the people of color saying that this isn’t really appropriate doesn’t sit right with me, but given his track record of racism and bigoted views it is not surprising at all. Hope he goes home 🫠

He changed his og caption from his video. He put “method acting” and now it’s something different. I listened to the black community who said it’s weird he said that. They’re right. You don’t need to get that hair style to “method act” to a song
