@pbsnews: Ke Huy Quan says he's "glad" he "lost his way" and spent years away from acting. "Those quiet years shaped who I am today. I wouldn't be who I am today if I didn't have that life experience," he told Amna Nawaz on the PBS News podcast, Settle In. "I actually think of myself pretty lucky because a good life is a balanced life." Quan, who came to America as a refugee, added that "the quiet years" gave him a "huge appreciation" for all the opportunities he has now. "I just became a much more grateful person because of everything," he said. Decades after starring in "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom" and "The Goonies," Quan made an Oscar-winning comeback in "Everything Everywhere All at Once." In his new memoir, "Never Say Die," Quan reflects on his years away from acting and the people and experiences that helped him find his way back. Same back ground as Ky, first generation of VN immigrants, totally agree with his assessment of good life is a balanced life where you have both good and bad experiences. Now we just strive for a “terrific” life for the next generation.
