Mine would get angry at me if I didn't join in at being angry at other drivers. It wasn't enough to be silent. I had to "be on his side".

Mine would drive MY car, through trails, speeding through them while yelling at me. He used to leave me in the car (in a city I moved to for him & I didn’t know it or anyone). He’d take the keys, to go see his friends, who I didn’t know & take my phone. So I’d just be sitting in a car by myself. He would apologize, then go to a cliff wanting to run off it, I had to save him so many times, or he’d “jokingly” make it look like he was going to throw me off of one. I had no where to go to run away and I wasn’t just going to walk into someone’s house I didn’t know for him. There’s so much more I can say, I want to share my story about it.

He tried to make me stop on a very busy road, and when I refused, he unbuckled, opened the door and pretended to jump, all because I'd made one comment about the fact that he was always swearing at me and insulting me, and he didn't want to carry on with the conversation...

a ride in the car is what made me leave. I sat there and accepted my death but survived so made sure it was worth it

This kind of rage driving happened to me on the way home from IVF egg collection... apparently I "took too long" and should have discharged myself early because the hospital parking was too expensive 👍🏼 I remember the seatbelt digging into my abdomen it was so painful

The best way to describe my husbands personality to others is : he waits for the oncoming traffic to turn off their high beams first.

my ex would drive drunk and super fast knowing I had PTSD because of a previous accident, punching his radio and telling me that I was lucky because he didn't hit me, the way my alcoholic father used to hit my mom.

Whenever we went somewhere and he was driving, I had to closed my eyes or look out the side so I didn't see how he was driving. He wasn't angry while driving, he was a scary driver. A lot of near misses.

me and my ex friend were the only people in our friend group who could drive at one point. i didnt understand why everyone always asked me for lifts instead of him until i eventually ended up in his car. he would drive dangerously just to get a reaction out of his passenger/s. like he would do something dangerous and look at you to see how you reacted. i genuinely cant imagine doing that to someone

The day my grandmother left her abusive husband he drove them to the airport (he didn’t belive my grandmother was actually leaving him). My aunt to this day describes it as the most terrifying experience of her life, she said that it felt like at any moment he was going to drive them off the road. Fortunately they made it and my grandmother never went back.

My ex and I went on a belated "honeymoon" and he insisted I drive us down and do the driving around Branson. He insisted on driving home..I was scared and pissed at him. he was high, fighting with me so I just buckled up and agreed to what he said. It was the final straw for me and I started to plan my exit. He later started using other drugs and git violent and I gotva restraining order and later a divorce.

My brother used to drive crazy because watching is be afraid for our lives was funny to him. Or he'd 'joke' about letting us get t-boned by an 18 wheeler or a train

so many bad driving times... I almost forgot about them. I would tell him that if he killed me he'd have to answer to my sister (she hated him). I stayed for 5 arduous years...

It’s like they know they are doing it but don’t know why and can’t stop. Then something external happens to boost the ego and sensible behaviour is restored . Weird AF.

Me ex would almost ALWAYS do this, when it was just us in the car or even when our kids were with us, we were always terrified to go anywhere with him, and when would get home, he would gaslight us, like, “What’s your problem? Why are you so scared?” I know he genuinely enjoyed our fear, so glad we’re out!

I remember my ex literally pulled on the steering wheel while I was driving, my daughter was in the car. Sometimes I don’t remember How I finally got out of that entire situation. But I did . And I’m here, and my daughter is grown and healthy and I’m OK too. We can make it out.

My ex husband did this, and made sure I knew he was driving recklessly on purpose. But GOD FORBID I drive. He acted like I was the worst driver in the world.

my dad has done this multiple times but always to get back at someone else for speeding in the specific school zone that was my elementary school, so he would follow them home, speeding, running red lights, cutting other people off to follow a stranger home for going a little over the playground speed limit while there weren't even any kids in school anymore, it was almost night. For a long time i thought it was kind of fun but for the most part i was just scared and sorry for whoever evoked my dads wrath on their way home
