That’s the whole thing, a avoidant will say so many things in the moment, it seams so genuine, then act shocked when you bring it up like they never said it. Emotional chaos is their capacity.

everyone shows up secure, when the "mask" drops and they turn fa, da, or anxious is when the past shows up and trauma takes over, (feels like "there real self" makes you question if you knew them at all or if it was all a lie) natural relationship milestones are the trigger. some trigger at a label, some trigger at marriage, when they have kids, some trigger on the first "official" date.
