I told people to stop communicating with one another and just to go through me to help them avoid the dopamine from their high conflict relationship. We finally got an agreement on basically half the issues. Because rather than slather the emails with emotions, I remove all that and just get to the legal issue. We focus on facts, not feelings.

That’s me - 43 now. Mother passed away, don’t speak to my father because the entire childhood was them going through their divorce. I live a super happy life. Happily married to an amazing hubby, and have a son. We travel the world and live a great life. But I am torn and sad inside every single day. That ruined me. So stop bringing children into your decision of what’s going on with your partner.

as someone who grew up in divorce and who was used as a pawn, this. As a woman going through divorce, it’s why I am as flexible as possible and refuse to put them in the middle no matter what. They’ll figure out who is who and what is what on their own. I just want to be a solid place for them that is consistent. They will never have to choose between their father and me.
