That study does not include people who were born with hearing loss because we are able to process information differently with different neural pathways. We are gaining access with aids, not recovering access.

I wear mine almost 22 hrs on average. If I don't my Tinnitus is just terrible. I love my hearing aids

i haven’t worn hearing aids in about 10 years. my hearing loss is slight so i’ve just dealt with it. this year, i started working with kids and ive been really struggling to hear some of the quieter kids. i never want a kid to feel unheard, so it finally inspired me to see an audiologist again

I was quoted 5-6,000 out of pocket for hearing aids for auditory processing disorder and hearing loss. Anyone know of any hacks to get them cheaper? Getting them in another country possibly?

In the uk my friend got his at a reduced price through his work. Maybe ask. The guy I get my hearing test done with, is fantastic! I have hearing aids and I love them. They did cost £3/4000. You can pay interest free.

i have tinnitus and have gone for hearing tests and a brain mri. apparently everything is “fine.” tinnitus is generally from hearing loss, so i’m at a loss!

i’m pretty sure the correlation is actually between hearing loss and dementia, which is t really about loss of the sense and more about loss of language and social isolation. there’s no correlation between deaf people and dementia, especially those with access to sign language

I’m 52 and got my first pair in my 30’s. They changed my life. I was always so worried about what people would think and now I could give two shits. I love how long the new models last also:)
