Correct me if I’m wrong but here in Canada the only reason they put the red dye was to identify it being farmers fuel (not taxed).

If you can get red diesel, be careful, the Feds might not enforce it on highway, but the states still can. I’m confident that my state, Oregon, will still be enforcing red diesel and will gladly fine anyone they find with it in their on-highway vehicles

Now demand for farm fuel will increase along with the price.

Typically Red diesel is only available at commercial card locks and resellers. Not at gas stations

You have to buy in bulk. Theres not gas stations that sell it and if you find one your very lucky lol

I searched online and only found 37 locations that sell it in all of Texas

Well, now the tractors that plow the crops are gonna have to fight for the fuel that the trucks are using

We have it delivered to our farm, never seen it outside of a farm ready to pump.

Wouldn’t it make more sense for the government to just remove the tax from the fuel for a period of time? No need for the red dye.

It will probably just make it harder for farmers to get. They’ll have to use regular diesel and get the taxes back later. Just one more nail in the farmer’s coffin.

It's used as heating oil as well, but it's not readily available. I agree. Nothing to see here. And it comes from the same source as truck diesel. There is no magical source of unlimited red dyed diesel.

Red diesel is just diesel is just diesel that is already untaxed. There is no difference.

Midterms. The optics look like they are trying to help Americans by doing nothing for us…possible voter gains if the large portion of ranchers and farmers decide to vote republican that are maybe on the fence.

Some states check trucks fuel. If it’s read it’s a really big for tax evasion or something like that. There isn’t any talk in red fuel.

Used to have “purple” gas in Canada. It was for use in farm equipment, as it was taxed at a lower rate

And if you want to see the difference between taxed gas and low tax gas, drive on the nice roads in North Carolina and then the potholes in South Carolina...

I had never heard of it before this. Didn't know it existed & am still kinda confused why it does, but not motivated enough to look since I don't use diesel anyway.

Doesn’t it all come from the same pipe at the refinery? They just add dye to identify it because it is sold without road tax . It’s still a supply shortage ✌️🇨🇦

unless someone had a 20 year national supply of red dye diesel they were talking about in their barn, it’s not helping lol

The way it’s worded makes no sense either. As a petroleum marketer, this is a nightmare.

Not to mention that the stores that do have it generally have a single, small nozzle pump on a 6000 gallon tank so, I hope they have fun running us out every day.
