It’s very weird getting old. Honestly I don’t think about how old I am as in my head I’m still the woman I was at 18,25,30 & then I’ll catch my reflection in a shop window or I’ll pass a mirror and there are times I give myself a huge shock!! I mean who the eff is that old woman, I’m actually nearly 63 but when the hell did I become old?

I had my son at 16 and signed him up to the child of our time research project in 2000 that follows them about it’s the same. Has been aired on BBC1 so interesting. Go on BBC I player and watch that. We’re obviously in year 26 with these group of ( now adults ) so proud of my young self of my son being part of this 👌

Absolute best series I’ve watched. I found it about 15 years ago and have been obsessed with it. I can’t believe they just came out with 70 😭😭 they as children just kill me!! Some of the cutest quotes with their cute accents. Ah, so sweet.

Probably irrelevant but I remember when my mum wanted to go see Top Gun 2 because she was 17 when the first one came out and she was so excited for it, but I’d never seen the first one for no particular reason other than I just never got around to it, so I watched it the day we went to see the sequel at its midnight showing on release day (mum was really excited lol) and I was sat there thinking “I’ve done in hours what took my mum years, everyone here has probably been watching Top Gun for years, maybe decades waiting for this sequel and I only had to wait a few hours, this is the closest I’m gonna get to time travel” and this kind of reminded me of that 😂

my high school teacher watched this doc and then filmed a group of us in year 7, then years later for graduation! i’m now 26 and and able to watch me at 12 talk about my life now 😭

I have always thought it would be so cool to remake this series… and then not only compare the current childhoods/lives of modern 7 year olds across Britain, but compare the lives of those 7 year olds to the lives of the original 7 year olds, to see how much life and childhood has changed in such a short space of time… if they started next year the 7 year olds would be 2020 babies, children born with zero memory of covid, but with a childhood altered by the aftermath of a global pandemic and the rise of share everything and anything on social media culture… quite an interesting group to follow up to 70 (which would be in 2090)
