But then there I was, faced with severe hairloss and forced to deal with it. Hairloss was the last thing I would’ve expected in my early 20’s so I was definitely not equipped to deal with it. If you have hairloss for any reason, then you know that it’s not just about losing hair, it’s about losing a part of your identity and losing nearly all of your self esteem. Each and every strand you lose is a reminder of what is being taken away from you. For nearly a whole year, I let my hairloss control me. It constantly chipped away at me until one day I couldn’t take it anymore. I can’t tell you how I knew it was time to shave my head. All I knew was that I was tired of watching it fall out and I wanted to be the one in control for once. So my dad got his shaver out and buzzed it all right off! And let me tell you, it was the most freeing thing!! Shaving it didn’t mean I was instantly happy. It took me months and months to be able to look at myself in the mirror with no hair. And it took me years to open up about it all. But I instantly knew it was the right decision because it meant I didn’t have to watch anymore hair fall out. And that was worth it to me. ❤️ Now, this is me! And I love my bald head! I’m really not sure what I would do if all my hair decided to grow back. 🙊 Who else is experiencing hairloss?
