It’s so much more than memory loss. It’s almost a emotional death of the person you knew versus the person they are now. Hardest thing for me when my mother was diagnosed was to meet her where she was at, not where I expected her to be with me. She went home to be with Jesus on July 20, 2026. The last seven months she was alive was devastating.

There is nothing that can be done with the picking. There is nothing we can do to stop it. They will stop when they feel like it. My mum has been through it twice now. You could try a fiddle cuff or fiddle mat for some minor relief?
