@meals_with_mar: 🫐 Blueberry Jam & Cream Cheese Puff Pastry Braid Ingredients (double for two braids): * 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed * 4 oz cream cheese, softened * 2 tbsp granulated sugar * ½ tsp vanilla extract * 1 tsp fresh lemon zest * ½ cup blueberry jam * 1 egg + 1 tbsp water, for egg wash Lemon glaze (optional) * ½ cup powdered sugar * 1–2 tbsp fresh lemon juice * ½ tsp vanilla extract, optional Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Unfold the thawed puff pastry directly onto the parchment and gently roll it out just enough to smooth the creases. 2. Make the cream cheese filling. Mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, vanilla and lemon zest until smooth. 3. Create the braid. Visually divide the puff pastry into thirds lengthwise. Leave the center third intact. On both outer thirds, cut diagonal strips about 1 inch wide, stopping when you reach the center section. 4. Spread the cream cheese mixture down the center third, leaving about ½ inch around the edges. Spoon the blueberry jam over the cream cheese. Try to leave a little space at the edges so it doesn’t escape while baking. 5. Fold the top and bottom edges of the puff pastry slightly over the filling. Then alternate folding strips from the left and right sides diagonally over the center, overlapping them slightly to create the braided look. 6. Whisk the egg with 1 tablespoon water. Brush over the pastry to coat it. Bake for 20–25 minutes, until deeply golden brown and puffed. 7. Let the braid cool for about 10–15 minutes. If using the glaze, whisk powdered sugar with enough lemon juice to make a thick but pourable glaze, then drizzle generously over the pastry. #puffpastry #easydessert #DessertRecipes #EasyRecipe
