@gswizzle99: took me two years to find my style and actually stick to it but I can’t imagine doing things differently! #pilatesinstructor #pilatestok #pilateshottakes #pilatesworkout #basipilatesinstructor
I start with deep breathing and full body gentle movement, someone said my class felt like a yoga flow 😭😩 we did zero yoga moves beyond the stretch at the end.

The breathing def helps disconnect their mind from the outside world and into the class! Love it

I always do this as well, and I do feel like sometimes people roll their eyes when I do the same “warm up/alignment” for every class, but I literally do not care! I’m all about teaching real Pilates albeit contemporary.

Love every bit of it and how I wish clients would understand these too. Leaving the class not drenched in sweat doesn’t mean it was a bad class!

Don't know how started the trend of using a million props! one time a mat instructor had us use ankle weights, booty band, one foot on a block and pill weights in our hands lol I never went back it was so overwhelming!

Breathing at a start is a MUST for me! Any class I’ve taken that doesn’t start with this, just never feels the same. It’s the perfect way to get the mind settled and set the intention for carrying the breath through the rest of class 🤌🏻

For point 4- that doesn’t make you a better pilates instructor it just makes you different to others. Instructors who do teach sculpt style classes on the reformer are not ‘bad’ instructors

Idk where people have been trained but as a trained dancer we mostly started classes with breathing and some form of pilates exercises on jazz training days . I have kept the same routine for Pilates class .
