This explains perfectly why we train exactly as we do @Black Diamond Gym The pressure applied during training for students and fighters is what makes technical training realistic will make it stick and become the mental and physical fight response in a realistic situation. Drilling techniques in agreed and known controlled settings or controlled sparring WILL NOT download the techniques to the point they are instinctive in a real situation. The ONLY way techniques will become instinctive is if they're drilled in pressurised realistic settings, that involves hostility, aggression, fatigue, uncertainty and potentially receiving shots that knock your focus and hurt. This is the same for fighters who are serious about fighting, when it comes to sparring the rounds must as close as possible replicate or over simulate what the fight will be like. Practising techniques in controlled setting sparring is not realistic of the fight and those techniques will not be downloaded and be instinctive when the fight starts. The sparring like the training must be pressured and for fighters extremely pressured like a fight versus a trained opponent is. This is how fight techniques are correctly drilled and how diamonds are formed, anything less than this is students, fighters and coaches fooling themselves that they are preparing for the realistic situations. #fighting #martialarts #realtraining
