WHAT WOULD YOU DO? We’ve been putting up with this for 3 months now 👇🏻 Our kids go to childcare 4 days a week. We always take them out to the park on the mornings we’re home with them & often in the arvo too. It’s just little snippets of time that they’re actually home making noise. Sometimes he yells at us when they’re crying, sometimes when they’re just playing & talking to each other. We live in a suburban, family town with houses that are right next to one another. I don’t know about you, but to me this means you’re going to get neighbourly noise!?? We have tried all kinds of responses when he yells at us from “No” to “Please stop yelling at us” to “You need to leave us alone” and one time when I was inside & he yelled my 7 yr old responded to him “Mind your own business”. A 7 yr old should not have to deal with this. My kids should feel comfortable to use their own yard. He always responds with “NO, BECAUSE I WANT YOU TO CONTAIN THE NOISE!” I understand with 4 kids/3 toddlers we aren’t the quietest neighbours… I get that kids crying isn’t something you want to hear all the time, neither do we! But they’re realistically not home very much & it’s unreasonable to expect no noise. The same generation that shakes their head to kids being on screens so much these days, is upset when kids are playing outside… go figure. We’ve asked him to come over to chat about it, we’ve tried knocking on his door (when we 100% knew he was home) but they chose not to answer. Instead they choose to open their windows & complain about the noise - our children using our own yard. It’s absolutely mind boggling.
