I also have OCD since I was 4. The reason I commented this is because a lot of huge TV shows, influencers and etc. like to use the term “OCD” to label normal things like liking to clean, knowing a lot about something(such as skincare in your case) and etc. If you genuinely like spending hours reading about ingredients in skin products, that’s not OCD. OCD is never something you like, it always comes from anxiety and dread or any other negative emotion. You can’t really turn OCD in to a superpower because there are literally zero positive things about it(even compulsions like cleaning, learning and etc are stressful.) I am glad that you are not one of those influencers who don’t know anything about OCD. However “skincare OCD” is still reinforcing the common stereotype. You love skincare, that’s not a symptom of your OCD. To an outside viewer, this could make them think that OCD is when you spend hours learning about skincare and LOVING IT. Again, I 100% believe you have OCD, however if you love doing skincare, again, that’s not a part of your OCD, and using the term “skincare OCD” can reinforce that misinterpretation to neurotypicals.
