My country NEEDS an audit. They "run out of funds" every year and never move the list. IF I was ever appointed to HUD secretary it would be the first thing I'd make happen. Full team from D.C. check the wait list make sure everyone still is on it is still alive and interested... fire all staff and hire all new staff. This one needs an overhaul for sure.

Yes, Seattle Housing Authority has and is continuously taking buildings and demolishing them and rebuilding them so anyone that’s currently leaseholder those buildings. They are getting them other buildings that they can live in. We actually have someone in my building. He used to live in different building, but he decided to stay here instead of go back.

I was approved years ago. Got vouchers, absolutely zero housing available. I moved in with my father instead

But now like me and my friend were just talking about this because we’re both you know single unmarried people without children getting help is really hard. We’re on the bottom of the list like I had to wait six years to live in low income and it’s not great plus I realize why the waitlist for just regular low income housing or public housing is at least in Seattle. They have a bunch of empty units but they’re not working on them. They’re not flipping them over making them ready for people help my neighbor across the hall from me died two years ago they haven’t touched her apartment once and like her family came and emptied everything out so that’s not an excuse.

So Seattle Housing Authority has been keeping their waitlist open and at least for a little while they were dry names pretty frequently. I am still on the waitlist but yeah back in early 2020 the King County Housing Authority, which is separate out here did the lottery system and I did not get picked. I didn’t even get picked to put on the waitlist which you know Disability people people that are disable
