@linnemanlittles: When you’re a one-man band, sometimes things go slick…and other times it turns into a wild circus full of regret….I think I may have just defined ranching. 😅 Either way, during my lunch hour today I figured I’d better try to run the calves in and get nose weans on the babies in town. We are so incredibly grateful for our pasture near town and for the use of the facilities. We just don’t have a chute there, so we improvise a bit. Thankfully, it couldn’t have taken more than a few minutes! I grabbed a lariat and a rope halter just in case, and used the panels to corner the babes. These babies really do have the best minds and cooperated enough for me to get the nose weans in…we’ll call that a success! Thankful for corrals, panels, rope, and most of all, the docility that Elmer and their mamas have passed down to these babies. 💙
