Former Starbucks barista here: and you’re so right lmao. I truly think it’s that we get yelled at if we fill it all the way and a manager/shift sees so some people are like brainwashed to defend that way of thinking. If someone asked me to fill their drink all the way I’d just say “order it as a latte next time” and do it lmao because idfc. That oatmilk ain’t coming out of my paycheck. Do they order it as a latte next time? No. Do I care? Also no. I also knew when someone ordered certain drinks in a way that was more expensive I’d change it to the cheaper way and tell them for next time. People defending a multi million dollar corporation off the clock is wild.
