The NHS is a stepping stone …. Hear me out. It’s meant to give you the training and experience you need and as cut throat as it sounds it’s just like quick sand the longer you stay the deeper into sadness burn out and depression you sink. Learning how to leverage your skills and clinical knowledge will get you into roles that honestly feel like ‘is this all I have to do!? And your paying me how much to do this from my home?’ Because as a nurse I genuinely laugh eveyday at the madness I endured in A&E for over a decade and what I do now, I feel anyone with sight and a laptop can do … And on top of that I have free private healthcare and dental and I get to travel, being able to be on a flight and get out the UK has been medicine for me helped me heal my skin and I made sure to negotiate that before excepting and also while we’re at negotiating… you can negotiate your salary too but they won’t offer that information to you Whatever they offer, send a counter and exapon why you deserve that and always offer a little more than you want so they can come and counter a little less you do that dance back and forth a few times and hopefully you land on a number that makes you happy. And always throw in a little based on performance I’d like to revisit my compensation evey annual review or 6 months review in future.
