@reality.over.identity: **A truth-based society protects dissent.** Not because every dissenter is right. But because **everyone else could be wrong.** Dissent gives us an opportunity to question assumptions, expose blind spots, challenge weak reasoning, and discover information the majority may have overlooked. A dissenting voice can say: **“Wait. What if we’re wrong?”** And that question matters. Because when disagreement is punished, people may eventually stop saying what they actually think. Agreement increases. But our confidence can increase **without our accuracy increasing with it.** Protecting dissent means allowing ideas to be questioned—and then letting **evidence, reasoning, and examination** determine which ideas survive. 🔎 Challenge the dissent. 🔎 Examine the evidence. 🔎 Correct false claims. 🔎 But protect the ability to question. **We don’t protect dissent because dissenters are always right.** **We protect dissent because none of us are infallible.** 💭 **Would you rather be surrounded by people who agree with you—or people who are free to tell you when they think you’re wrong?** #Dissent #TruthSeeking #CriticalThinking #Discernment #IntellectualHumility
