Sibiya Bail Hearing: Wife Says ‘Mr M’ Was Not Employed by Lt-Gen Sibiya The bail application of suspended police deputy national commissioner Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya continued before the Randburg Magistrates’ Court, with the court hearing evidence contained in an affidavit by his wife, Sizakele Dlamini. Dlamini deposed an affidavit in support of Sibiya’s application for release on bail. In the affidavit, she states that “Mr M”, the father of the 16-year-old at the centre of the sexual grooming allegations against Sibiya, was not employed by her husband. According to Dlamini, she was later contacted by the family’s “Apostle”, who allegedly explained why Mr M had laid charges against Sibiya and subsequently indicated that he intended to withdraw them. The affidavit states that Mr M allegedly wanted to contact the grandmother of the minor in an effort to convince the family to drop the sexual grooming charges. Dlamini further told the court that, according to the “Apostle”, Mr M was under significant pressure from individuals identified as “Khumalo” and “Mkhwanazi”, who allegedly wanted him to continue with the charges. The affidavit also states that the “Apostle” told Dlamini that Mr M had become concerned after seeing Sibiya allegedly weeping in court. During proceedings, the presiding officer questioned Sibiya’s legal team about where the alleged threats were contained in messages sent by Mr M to Dlamini. The evidence forms part of the defence’s broader argument in support of Sibiya’s release on bail. The allegations contained in the affidavit remain subject to scrutiny by the court, and no findings of wrongdoing have been made against the individuals mentioned. The bail proceedings continue as the court considers the evidence presented by the defence and the prosecution.Powerful Title: SIBIYA BAIL: Wife Says ‘Mr M’ Was Not Employed by Lt-Gen Sibiya as Court Probes Alleged Pressure to Pursue Charges #ShadrackSibiya #SibiyaBail #SizakeleDlamini #RandburgMagistratesCourt #SouthAfrica Shadrack Sibiya, Sibiya bail, Sizakele Dlamini, Randburg Magistrates Court, Sibiya wife affidavit, Mr M, Khumalo, Mkhwanazi, sexual grooming allegations, Sibiya court case, SAPS, South Africa news, police commissioner, bail application, latest South Africa news
