Dental hygienist here…you should get your wisdom teeth out before you do anything else. They could be putting pressure on your teeth and possibly not letting things move the way they need to if that makes sense!?! I would never want an expander as an adult😩

as a girl who’s getting an expander plsssss pls pls get it. there’s protocols that can keep the space closed, you should ask about them!! and in many cases it starts shutting by itself. the grinding is a sign ur airway is nottttt good at night and when u get older u might end up with sleep apnea. in many cases orthos do camouflage orthodontics, my last treatment forced my lower jaw back ruining the placement of my joint which caused further grinding. my ortho gave me a bite detrainer to see my natural position and when i tell u alllll the pain went away its allllll gone. in many cases expanders allow ur lower jaw to stop being trapped by ur upper jaw and it will be smmmm more comfortable!!
