@grolectric: Did you know Buffalo is home to the largest electric bus depot in New York State? That’s right, Buffalo is leading the charge to electrify their city buses. The depot currently houses 36 pantograph chargers. These chargers only require the bus to park and then they automatically lower onto copper bars in the roof of the bus. No charging cord is required to be plugged in. The chargers allow 400amps to flow through the copper bars. They charge the busses in just 2-3 hours after an 8 hour duty cycle. So far the depot is home to 45 electric buses with room for 50, but the infrastructure was built with the future in mind. The depot was designed to be easily expanded to accommodate up to 100 electric buses. Have you taken a ride on one of these buses yet?
