This happened to my dad, but they came in with forged checks from his employer and a fake id that allowed them to cash out certain amounts ($28k in total) at the time of deposit. It wasn’t until the bank went to bill my dad’s employer that the bank found out it was a scam

It really sucks that people can buy your info on the dark web, and that the average person is way more likely to be impacted by this than someone who…. is like the bald guy who went to space with a pop star or the pale incel who sweats under pressure or an oil Barron or the gay guy who sees everyone everywhere.
