@mothershipsg: K-pop group Stray Kids appears to be joining BTS in boycotting the 2027 Grammy Awards. Their agency, JYP Entertainment, confirmed on Oct. 2 that the group did not submit any music for consideration at the upcoming ceremony, BBC reported. The label did not give a reason, but the move comes after the Grammys introduced a new category for Asian pop music in June 2026. The category drew backlash for grouping Asian artists into a regional category rather than allowing them to compete in the Grammys’ general categories. BTS had also previously announced that they did not want their music divided by region or language. Meanwhile, Grammys chief Harvey Mason Jr. confirmed that the new category would proceed as planned, citing supporters who urged the recording academy to retain it.
