I mean, he made Rocky 4 better. This is something I’ve been wanting to see for years!

Marco :
It’s misunderstood and not the weakest in the entire franchise and it’s not that bad. It’s actually in many ways a retelling of Rocky II because he was unable to compete. In real life it’s unlikely Rocky lives the life he lived in Rocky III & IV. Rocky V in many ways was a return to form and the essence of the franchise right down to the setting, outfits and that true grit feel continued in Rocky 6 and remains part of the franchises DNA even into the Creed films. Stop and think again.

ALF Was Racist :
Still never get over the fact that Rocky is in Russia and beats Drago at the end of Rocky IV as his 8/9 year old son watches on tv in America. Rocky returns to the states at the start of Rocky V and sees his family when he gets off the plane, but his son some how is now 13/14 years old. Meaning Rocky stayed in Russia for like four years on a vacation away from his family.

Rocky IV also got a re-edit that was released in 2021. it features 38 minutes of unreleased footage and is more serious and character driven compared to the cheesy and campy tone of the original cut. they also cut a ton of stuff to make room for the new footage.

Recut nor remade. Sly wants the Rocky IV treatment. Which I didn’t see but I assume doesn’t change much.

Let's do Superman III & IV next. There's a good movie buried in there somewhere.

I imagine there’s a deep personal connection to it as his real-life son was in it. Maybe he wants to rework those aspects.

The Main Event :
I'm not so sure about a re-edit. Especially when he's only asking for 3 weeks. The director’s cut for Rocky IV had some questionable editing that stood out like a sore thumb. With that said I'm still looking forward to see what he comes up with. Rocky V is one of my favorites.
