@beardie_and_botanicals: This is the first time I've ever sprouted seeds of any kind on my own. I wanted to try different methods, including clay pebbles, rock wool, and a good ol' damp paper towel. Those ones I kept in the dark and used normal water (no nutrient solution). The arugula I planted straight into the clay pebbles and made a Kratky method hydroponic setup. The water contains nutrient solution and it has been kept under the greenhouse lights which are on a 12 hour timer. The rock wool obviously won the competition, but newbies like me please wear gloves while handling it unless you want to feel like you have tiny slivers in your hands for days (I learned that lesson the hard way). The paper towels did extremely well but 9 days was too long to leave them alone. The sprouts already started weaving roots through the towel, so when I tried to pick them out a lot of the roots broke off. I would have checked on them sooner if I wasn't out of town. What sprouting methods work best for you? 🌱 #hydroponics #hydroponicgardening #indoorgarden #plant #plants
