Part 1: Walking Out With the Cart Was Easy Until They Stopped Her: On July 24, 2025, at approximately 16:00, law enforcement responded to a call made by store security regarding an active theft in progress. Upon arrival, an officer met with a loss prevention officer outside the store entrance. The officer was told the suspect was a Black female, wearing a gray tank top and black shorts, and was currently located in lane four near the register. Security stated they had witnessed the suspect place items into a bag. The officer entered the store and observed an individual matching the description provided. From a position near the customer service area, the officer monitored the situation. The individual paid for the groceries in her shopping cart but made no attempt to pay for the items hidden in her bag. The individual then passed all points of sale without paying for the concealed merchandise. The officer stopped the individual and asked to inspect the bag. At first, the individual refused. The officer then informed her that security personnel had video evidence of items being placed into the bag without payment. The individual eventually complied, and merchandise worth $36.13 was found inside. The individual was detained, and the officer reviewed surveillance footage with security. The video clearly showed the suspect removing items from the cart and placing them into the bag while waiting in lane four. Based on the investigation, there was significant evidence to charge the individual with retail theft. The suspect was issued a notice to appear for Retail Theft. She has an upcoming court date scheduled in September.#cops #fyp #police #viral
