The pride now consists of her and her brother, and my heart is absolutely bursting with happiness for them. I have been following these two for years, ever since they were part of the original trio — two young males and their sister. Sadly their brother was killed by the Ncila Males earlier this year 😞💔 Bill Drew was the first to post them a few years ago, when they were known as the Klaserie Trio. Later, Johan Smalman named them the Mawondane Pride. I have watched their journey from those young lions to where they are today, and seeing Mawondane YF now with four tiny cubs feels incredibly special. 🥹❤️ What a beautiful new chapter for this little family. After following them for so long, this news genuinely feels personal. Tiny paws and growling away, one of the youngest members of the Mawondane Pride came running towards the game drive vehicle near Simbavati Hilltop Lodge, seemingly ready to take us all on. Mum, however, had other ideas. She swept in and gently picked up her adventurous little one, who still had a few growls to spare. Then came the stare. With her cub safely in her mouth, she paused and looked straight at the vehicle. The little one was very cute. Mum’s look was enough to remind everyone in the vehicle who was in charge."
